This is especially true in situations where behavioural or productivity issues are affecting the workplace negatively.
Colton Arkhangel & Daniel Witt have significant experience in the development of employer policy and procedures that educate and empower employers and HR Professionals to ethically address workplace issues related to addictions & mental health.
Most employers struggle to balance the need to maintain seamless business operations, while also fulfilling their mandate to accommodate an employee who is underperforming due to suspected or confirmed addictions & mental health issues.
This consultative service will provide you with a recommended course of action for addressing workplace behavioural or productivity issues while also assisting your employee in accessing addictions and mental health services they may require in a non-punitive, and supportive manner that minimizes disruption to day-to-day workplace operations, ensures safety of all parties, and preserves the dignity and privacy of your employee.

- Please note, this is a professional consultation service for employers, and no direct care can be provided to the employee, however referrals to other providers, EFAP, etc can be facilitated

With extensive experience in Healthcare Management, Nursing Education, and Policy development; Colton Arkhangel is pleased to offer educational presentations and professional development services to employers seeking to educate themselves and their employees on topics related to addictions & mental health that may be affecting the workplace.
As a member of the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association National Advisory Committee of the Opioid Crisis, Colton Arkhangel is actively involved in supporting employers develop policies, procedures, and educational sessions to enhance the mental health of their workplace, support early intervention for employees experiencing addictions & mental health issues, and develop crisis and emergency intervention plans for issues such as opioid or drug use/overdose in the workplace, suicidal behaviour in the workplace, and more. Colton Arkhangel has a special interest in assisting trades, and construction industries, which are disproportionately negatively affected by the ongoing Opioid and Drug Use Crisis in Canada, Worker overdoses and suicides, and rates of worker depression, substance use disorders, and anxiety.
Mr. Daniel Witt, M.Ed, B.Ed, BA
With extensive experience as a Teacher, Correctional Officer (Programs & General), Forensic Risk & Pre-Sentencing Assessment Specialist, and owner/ manager of a successful roofing company in Yukon; Daniel Witt has a whealth of experience enviable to many. His experience working in some of the most challenging environments disproportionately affected by the devastating impact of mental illness & substance use has distinguished Mr. Witt within this industry. Mr. Witt is well versed on the early, intermediate, and late intervention strategies required when mental health and substance use problems present in the workplace, home, or public. His Graduate work qualifies him to develop and deliver top quality educational material that is both appropriate and relevant to your workplace, employee population, culture, and language.
Educational Services
- Educational Presentations & materials will be tailored to your workplace needs, areas of interest for staff development, or employee population.
- Educational materials, posters, and resources can also be created, sourced, and provided
- Education Sessions Provided Remotely or In-Person/On-Site (preferred)
- Rates start at $250/Hour (up to a MAXIMUM of $750/day) (+Applicable GST/HST/PST)
- Rate includes all presentation preparation work & literature review, praparation time, and deliverables.
Employer Naloxone Training
- We offer on-site training for Employers and Employees on the Use of Publicly Funded Naloxone Emergency Kits for suspected or confirmed opioid overdose.
- EXCLUSIVE:
- We offer on-site training for Employers and Employees on the proper use of NARCAN Nasal Spray for suspected or confirmed opioid overdoses in the workplace.
- NARCAN Nasal Spray is an easy to use product that does not require the use of sharps, injectable naloxone, or significant training.
- NARCAN Nasal Spray has simple user-friendly instructions, is small and discreet, and reduces the risk of exposure to blood and other bodily fluids.
- During an emergency NARCAN Nasal Spray can be easier for many to administer given it's simple directions, and easy delivery.
- While not publicly funded, Arkhangel Addictions & Mental Health Services has partnered with a Pharmacy to provide this product to your workplace in a cost effective manner.
- A "Train the Trainer" program is available for this product, simplifying the process.
Workplace Addictions & Mental Health Consulting
Colton Arkhangel, RN MN PMH-BC & Daniel Witt, M.Ed B.Ed BA have a special interest in researching and improving the Mental Health & Wellness of Canada’s Trades, Construction, & Aviation industry workers. This demographic is disproportionately affected by mental health and addiction challenges.
In order to effectively address these challenges, one requires a solid understanding of the realities and challenges affecting this underserved demographic.
